Primary Tools

HubSpot Marketing Hub (or Marketo / Pardot)

Marketing automation platform used for form creation, hidden field configuration, progressive profiling rules, automated email workflows, and lead sync to CRM. HubSpot is the most common MAP in this space. Marketo and Pardot require equivalent configurations with platform-specific approaches.

Salesforce (or HubSpot CRM)

CRM where lead records land after form submission. Used for field mapping configuration, lead assignment rules, notification workflows, and downstream reporting. Salesforce is the primary CRM for most enterprise clients; HubSpot CRM is used when the client runs the full HubSpot stack.

Google Tag Manager (GTM)

Used to deploy JavaScript that captures UTM parameters from the URL and populates hidden form fields. Critical for attribution tracking when the MAP's native UTM capture is insufficient or when forms are embedded across multiple subdomains.

Website CMS (WordPress, Webflow, or equivalent)

Where forms are embedded. CMS access is required to place form embed codes, add tracking scripts, and verify mobile responsiveness. The specific CMS affects how forms are deployed (native embed vs. iframe vs. JavaScript snippet).

Approach 2: Full Build

  • Criteria: Client needs new forms across multiple funnel stages, no UTM tracking exists, routing and automation workflows need to be built from scratch
  • Execution: Complete discovery, form strategy by funnel stage, full hidden field and UTM architecture, routing rules, notification workflows, nurture sequences, QA, training. 35-50 hours.

Approach 3: Enterprise Multi-System

  • Criteria: Multiple MAP instances, complex CRM schema, 15+ forms across subdomains, multiple teams with different routing rules
